Move Over Winners: Portugal’s NAPA Goes Viral With “Deslocado” After Eurovision 2025

It’s been three weeks since the stage lights dimmed at St. Jakobshalle in Basel and Austria triumphantly walked away with the Eurovision 2025 trophy thanks to JJ’s heartfelt ballad “Wasted Love.” But while Austria may have won the mic, Portugal’s NAPA may just be winning the internet.

Their entry “Deslocado” – a nostalgic and emotionally charged ode to one’s homeland – didn’t exactly blow the juries away, finishing a modest 21st in the Grand Final. However, it’s now taking TikTok (and a few tear ducts) by storm.

Because who needs Eurovision points when you’ve got feelings?

TikTok trend alert: longing never goes out of style

In recent days, thousands of users have jumped on a growing TikTok trend using Deslocado as a soundtrack to express homesickness, cultural pride, or simply the deep emotional confusion that comes from not being able to find decent coffee abroad.

With over 35,000 videos using the audio and counting, Deslocado has officially entered the annals of “songs that Eurovision slept on but TikTok made famous.” And yes, it’s now outpacing even the winner “Wasted Love” and viral diva latte anthems like “Espresso Macchiato.” (We checked. The numbers don’t lie.)

Not the first, won’t be the last

Of course, Eurovision history is no stranger to post-contest glow-ups. Remember Snap by Rosa Linn? Armenia’s 2022 entry limped to 20th place in the Grand Final and then sprinted to over 1.25 billion streams on Spotify, turning Rosa Linn into a household name. (Well, in houses with teenagers, at least.)

So will Deslocado be the next Snap? Will NAPA become Portugal’s latest musical export since… well, Amália Rodrigues? Only time (and the Spotify charts) will tell.

But one thing’s certain: the power of Eurovision doesn’t end with the scoreboard – and for NAPA, the real journey might be just beginning.
