Junior Eurovision 2024 Hosts Promise a Fun-filled Show: ‘We Want to Bring the Spanish Spirit to the Stage’

With just a month to go before the 22nd edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Madrid, excitement is building as Spain prepares to host the prestigious event for the first time. In a press conference led by María Eizaguirre, Director of Communication and Participation at RTVE, the three hosts of the show—Ruth Lorenzo, Marc Clotet, and Melani García—shared their enthusiasm for what promises to be a vibrant and entertaining gala.

The event will be broadcast live from the Caja Mágica, with the support of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Spain’s public broadcaster, Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE). The demand for tickets has been overwhelming, selling out within an hour of going on sale on October 15, further highlighting the excitement surrounding the Junior edition.

A Joyous Celebration of Spanish Culture

The hosts are keen to make sure the 2024 Junior Eurovision is as entertaining as possible, capturing the heart and soul of Spain. «We want to convey the fun-loving essence of the Spanish people,» Ruth Lorenzo shared, underlining the importance of making the event a joyful celebration. Marc Clotet, equally excited, spoke about the script they’ve begun working on, promising many surprises. “It’s a script full of fun moments, and we’re going to enjoy it a lot. It’s such a thrill to help make the children’s dreams come true.”

Melani García, the youngest of the trio, highlighted the strong bond they’ve already formed. “My co-hosts are incredibly talented, and we have great chemistry. I’m sure that connection will come across on screen,” she said, radiating confidence.

As the anticipation builds, the trio’s goal is clear: to ensure the audience, both at home and in the arena, has a memorable and entertaining night.

Reflections on Spain’s Eurovision Junior Contender

The press conference also provided an opportunity to discuss Spain’s contestant, Chloe DelaRosa, who will perform the song “Como la Lola.” Melani, who competed in Junior Eurovision herself in 2019, expressed admiration for Chloe: “She embodies the essence of Junior Eurovision. Her charisma and the message behind the song—a tribute to Lola Flores—are bound to connect with the audience.”

Lorenzo, reflecting on her own Eurovision experience in 2014, offered her advice for Chloe: “The most important thing is to enjoy the experience. You want to look back and remember how much fun you had.»

With such a strong team behind the scenes and a passionate, talented contestant on stage, all signs point to a spectacular evening celebrating the very best of young musical talent.
