Switzerland Opens Song Submissions for Eurovision 2026: Time to Shine Again!

As the dust settles after the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basle, Switzerland is already gearing up for the next big musical showdown. From August 4 to August 25, 2025, artists, producers, and songwriters will be able to submit their entries to represent Switzerland at Eurovision 2026. After an impressive run of performances from Luca Hänni in 2019, Gjon’s Tears in 2021, and Nemo’s victory in 2024, the Swiss public broadcaster SRF is once again putting the spotlight on Swiss talent. And let’s be honest: if you’re not already humming The Code, what have you been doing with your life?
Switzerland’s Eurovision Momentum: Building on Success
It’s safe to say Switzerland has done more than hold its own in recent years. Luca Hänni’s 4th place finish in 2019 with She Got Me and Gjon’s Tears’s emotional third place in 2021 with Tout l’univers raised the stakes high. But let’s not forget the 2024 victory by Nemo with The Code, and that 10th place finish by Zoë Më in Eurovision 2025, held in Basilea, proving that Switzerland is no longer just a contender—it’s a force to be reckoned with. As Yves Schifferle, Head of Delegation for SRG SSR, recently stated, “Eurovision 2025 in Basel and Nemo’s victory in 2024 showed the creative potential of Switzerland. We’re not resting on our laurels—we’re charging forward with full energy and enthusiasm into the next round.”
Well, we all know what that means: Switzerland is hungry for more.
How Switzerland Will Choose Its Eurovision Song for 2026
As per usual, the Swiss selection process for Eurovision 2026 will be thorough, strategic, and absolutely Swiss. From August 4 to August 25, 2025, hopeful artists will be able to submit their songs via an official platform (and yes, we’re sure this will be as user-friendly as a Swiss watch). The lucky winner will be chosen through a multi-stage process involving both Swiss public juries and international expert juries, ensuring that only the most Eurovision-worthy tracks make the cut.
In addition to the Swiss jurors, a 25-member international panel will weigh in on the final decision, bringing an extra layer of expertise to the table. These jurors have already proven their credentials in Eurovision national juries, so expect nothing less than world-class judgement.
What’s Next for Switzerland?
The winner and their chosen song will be announced early in 2026, with SRF, RTS, RSI, and RTR collaborating to ensure that the Swiss representative has everything they need to make a splash in Austria. Will the Swiss come back with another surprise hit, or will they take it all the way and grab that elusive first place? Only time will tell, but with the incredible momentum from previous years, it’s looking like Switzerland will continue to have an important role in the Eurovision limelight.
