Sanremo 2025: A Musical Showdown Awaits – Who Will Steal Italy’s Heart?

February brings the grand spectacle that music fans across Italy and Europe eagerly await: the 75th Sanremo Music Festival. From February 11th to 15th, a glittering line-up of artists will grace the historic Ariston Theatre, each hoping to claim the festival crown in one of the world’s most iconic musical contests. Hosted by the beloved Carlo Conti, Sanremo promises nights of passion, drama, and unforgettable performances.
The artist lineup will be unveiled on 2 December during a live TG1 broadcast, where Conti will end months of speculation with a roster of contenders poised to dazzle. This year’s competition ups the ante, featuring multiple judging panels: from esteemed journalists to influential radio broadcasters, with each night’s voting system promising a fresh thrill.
Night-by-Night Breakdown: Drama and Glamour in Equal Measure
On the first night, all competing artists will present their original songs, judged solely by a panel of professional journalists. The second and third nights will see the artists divided, with half performing each night, and a vote split between the public and a jury of radio broadcasters. The fourth night is set to be a fan favourite, as contestants perform covers—often alongside guest artists in duets—while votes are cast by the public, journalists, and radio critics.
For the grand finale, all acts will take to the stage once more, with the final ranking determined by audience votes. The top five songs will then be re-performed in a nail-biting showdown, with the winner crowned by public votes, the journalists’ jury, and the broadcasters’ jury, a formula that adds to the suspense and spectacle.
Nuove Proposte: Spotlight on Italy’s Rising Stars
Adding to the intrigue, Sanremo’s famed «Nuove Proposte» category for emerging talents will run alongside the main competition. These young hopefuls will have their moment in the spotlight on the second and third nights, with the winners advancing to the final round for a chance to claim the “New Proposals” title on the fourth evening. This setup keeps audiences engaged as they root for their favourites and discover Italy’s freshest musical talents.
