Melodi Grand Prix 2025: A Night to Rewrite Music History

In a city that breathes culture and creativity, Oslo is about to host the music extravaganza of the year: Melodi Grand Prix. For the first time in six years, the grand finale will grace the hallowed grounds of the Oslo Spektrum on February 15th, promising a show-stopping celebration of Norwegian talent.
Back to Where It Belongs
“We’re bringing the final back to sacred ground,” says Mads Tørklep, MGP project leader, reflecting on the Spektrum’s storied history as a music venue, including hosting Eurovision in 1996. “This is a national event that no other TV show can rival in engagement and passion,” he adds, hyping up the anticipation as ten artists prepare to battle it out for the ultimate honour.
A Trio of Talent
The final will be hosted by none other than Marte Stokstad, a seasoned MGP presenter, alongside newcomers Tete Lidbom and Markus Neby. Stokstad, who last led the show in 2012, is ecstatic: “It’s a reunion I’ve been waiting for. Hosting alongside Tete and Markus makes it all the sweeter.”
Tete, stepping into the MGP spotlight for the first time, couldn’t be more thrilled. “This is the ultimate music festival—a place where anything can happen,” he enthuses, citing the diverse range of performances, from Secret Garden’s Nocturne to Wig Wam’s In My Dreams. Markus Neby, already a familiar face in the MGP universe, promises a show brimming with humour, spectacle, and perhaps a few wardrobe surprises.
The Countdown Begins
The ten competing artists will be revealed at a press conference on January 16th, kicking off the final leg of this exhilarating journey. Tickets go on sale November 22nd at noon, so mark your calendars!
With its vibrant history and the promise of unforgettable performances, Melodi Grand Prix 2025 is poised to cement Oslo’s Spektrum as the heartbeat of Norwegian music once again. Get ready for a night of high drama, showstopping hits, and the crowning of a new Norwegian star.
