Bulgaria Contemplates Eurovision 2025 Participation: A Decision in September

Bulgaria has not yet ruled out participating in Eurovision 2025. According to the official Eurovision account of Bulgarian National Television (BNT), the final decision on the country’s involvement will be made in September.

The deadline for the preliminary participation of public broadcasters in the competition also falls in September. BNT will evaluate whether Bulgaria will return to the Eurovision stage in 2025.

Bulgaria last competed in Eurovision in 2022 with Intelligent Music Project and their song «Intention,» which finished 16th out of 17 entries in the semi-final, scoring 29 points.

Bulgaria’s History in Eurovision

Bulgaria’s journey in the Eurovision Song Contest began in 2005. While the country struggled in its early years, it made a significant impact in 2007 when Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov reached 5th place with «Water.» Bulgaria’s best result came in 2017 when Kristian Kostov finished 2nd with «Beautiful Mess» Known for its dynamic entries and passionate performances, Bulgaria has become a beloved participant in Eurovision, despite occasional absences from the competition. As fans eagerly await BNT’s decision, there’s hope for another memorable Bulgarian entry in 2025.
