Eesti Laul 2025: The First Finalists are In, and Estonia is Ready for a Eurovision Comeback!

Estonia’s biggest night in music is on the horizon, and the first batch of finalists for Eesti Laul 2025 has just been revealed! Eight acts have made it through, each one bringing their unique sound and a dream of representing Estonia on the Eurovision stage in February. From haunting ballads to dance floor anthems, this year’s selection seems primed to raise the bar and possibly, just possibly, clinch that coveted win for Estonia.

Monday night’s reveal on Ringvaade has set the stage with fierce talents, and audiences are already buzzing. Here’s a quick rundown of who’s taking the plunge this year:

  • An-Marlen with “Külm” – A moody, intense ballad that speaks to the heart of winter, co-written by Frederik Mustonen and Maria Vainumägi.
  • Anna Sahlene and her powerhouse “Love Me Low” – This track combines catchy pop with Sahlene’s distinctive energy. Having legends like Bobby Ljunggren on board certainly adds credibility.
  • ANT’s “Tomorrow Never Comes” – If you’re looking for something gritty and mysterious, this track, penned by Ant Nurhan, Kim Wennerström, and Merili Käsper, is for you.
  • ELYSA with “The Last to Know” – A pop delight courtesy of Simon Peyron and Julie Aagaard, promising a polished performance.
  • FELIN’s “Solo Anthem” – Bold and unapologetic, this solo anthem is an instant earworm, courtesy of Paul Rey and Gevin Niglas.
  • Räpina Jack feat. Kaisa Ling with “Tule” – For something traditional with a twist, this collab with Kill Kaare and Kaisa Ling brings folklore into the modern age.
  • Stereo Terror’s “Party Till the End of the World” – This is party rock at its finest – think guitar riffs and rebellion, brought to you by Lauri Hämäläinen and Heigo Anto.
  • Tuuli Rand’s “Rem” – A dreamy, introspective track co-written with Cecilia Martina Mägi that’s bound to stand out.

With 175 songs submitted, the selection process was no easy feat. The panel, a mix of music icons and seasoned Eurovision veterans like Alika and Tanja Mihhailova-Saar, listened to hours upon hours of music before making these picks. The final list promises to showcase diversity, with a genre for everyone.

But the excitement doesn’t end here – on November 5, Ringvaade will unveil the remaining seven finalists, and in early January, fans will also get the chance to vote for a 16th “wild card” entry.

Come February, all eyes will be on the Unibet Arena as Eesti Laul 2025 makes its return, and one act will walk away with the ticket to Eurovision glory in Switzerland. This could be the year that Estonia breaks through – don’t miss the ride!
