Welcome Home: Meet the Hosts of Eurovision 2025 in Basel!

The 2025 Eurovision Song Contest promises to deliver an unforgettable celebration of unity and culture under Switzerland’s motto, “Welcome Home”. With three remarkable women at the helm—Hazel Brugger, Michelle Hunziker, and Sandra Studer—this year’s edition is set to radiate charm, wit, and professionalism from the iconic St. Jakobshalle in Basel on May 17th.

Three Women, One Vision

Hazel Brugger, a 31-year-old award-winning comedian, will bring her sharp wit and fresh perspective to the stage. Born in the USA and raised near Zurich, Hazel is a voice of her generation, ensuring a youthful and innovative energy that aligns with Eurovision’s evolving audience.

Joining her is Michelle Hunziker, an internationally renowned entertainer with an illustrious career spanning German and Italian television. Known for her charisma and glamour, Michelle, 47, embodies Switzerland’s connection to the global stage.

Sandra Studer completes the trio, adding a rich layer of Eurovision legacy. Having represented Switzerland in 1991 and later serving as a commentator and spokesperson, Sandra’s deep connection to the contest ensures a warm, nostalgic touch for dedicated fans.

Beyond the Main Stage

Eurovision 2025 isn’t confined to the arena. Fans can gather at the Arena Plus, a reimagined football stadium hosting public viewings and electrifying pre-shows featuring national and international artists like Anna Rossinelli and DJ Antoine.

Veteran presenters Mélanie Freymond and Sven Epiney will lead the festivities in this unique venue, ensuring an engaging experience for over 36,000 attendees.

A Festival for All

This year’s Eurovision isn’t just a show; it’s a nationwide celebration. Educational initiatives, including school workshops and teaching materials in Switzerland’s four national languages, aim to inspire creativity and highlight Eurovision’s cultural diversity.

Collaborations with Swiss universities also promise to spotlight young talent, offering students hands-on opportunities in event production, design, and broadcasting. Notably, students from the University of Applied Sciences Graubünden will handle the international broadcast of key Eurovision events, showcasing Switzerland’s innovative spirit.

Uniting the World Through Music

Eurovision 2025 in Basel aspires to be more than a spectacle. It’s a testament to Switzerland’s openness, creativity, and sense of community. By combining star-studded performances with grassroots initiatives, this year’s contest is set to leave an indelible mark on Europe and beyond.
