San Marino Eyes Junior Eurovision 2026 Bid After Securing Three-Year Deal for National Contests

Tiny but mighty San Marino is thinking big again! Following a new three-year agreement between San Marino RTV, the Secretariat of State for Tourism, and Media Evolution, the Republic of the Titano has officially expressed its interest in hosting the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026.
The announcement reinforces San Marino’s ambition to become a recurring stage for major EBU (European Broadcasting Union) events — not just a participant, but a host nation ready to welcome Europe’s young stars.
A Growing Eurovision Legacy
With over 16 years of experience in EBU events, San Marino has built a reputation as the ultimate small country with a big voice. From Eurovision’s main stage to its national selections, the microstate continues to punch above its weight in Europe’s most glamorous musical family.
“San Marino offers world-class venues — from theatres to sports arenas — capable of hosting an event of this magnitude,” said Ersin Palak, advisor to the Sammarinese delegation. “Every year we are eager to win, and ready to bring the Junior Eurovision home.”
Martina CRV to Shine in Tbilisi 2025
Before dreaming of 2026, San Marino is already preparing for Junior Eurovision 2025, which will take place on 13 December at the Olympic Palace in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Representing the Republic will be Martina CRV, a 12-year-old singer and musician who will perform her song “Beyond the Stars”. The entry showcases her vocal talent and emotional depth, embodying San Marino’s commitment to nurturing young artists.
“Junior Eurovision is a wonderful opportunity for children to share their talent and make new friends,” Palak added. “We wish Martina — and all participants — a journey filled with music and friendship.”
The San Marino Song Contest Returns — and Evolves
The country’s ambitions don’t stop there. A fresh three-year deal will also relaunch the San Marino Song Contest, the festival that selects the country’s Eurovision 2026 representative.
The revamped format will include two live semi-finals and a live grand final, all broadcast on San Marino RTV.
Denny Montesi, CEO of Media Evolution, will serve as Head of Delegation, alongside Valentina Monetta — the four-time Eurovision legend — who takes on the role of Ambassador. Together, they will lead San Marino’s mission to promote local talent and strengthen its international artistic presence.
