From Eurovision to the NBA? Lithuania’s Newest Superstar Might Just Be… Two People

In the grand theatre of international talent, Lithuania has somehow managed to spawn not one, but two dazzling stars—so similar in appearance, fans are beginning to suspect cloning. On one end of the court (or stage), we have Silvester Belt, Eurovision heartthrob and pop sensation. On the other, rising basketball prodigy Kasparas Jakučionis, who’s just landed himself a seat in the NBA Draft Green Room. The internet, naturally, has gone into speculative overdrive.

What started as a few cheeky tweets pointing out the uncanny resemblance between the two young men quickly snowballed into a full-blown national conspiracy theory. Could it be a case of secret twins separated at birth? Or perhaps Silvester Belt moonlights as a point guard when he’s not seducing Europe with synth-pop anthems?

Jokes aside, both have carved out impressive careers—albeit in wildly different arenas. Silvester, with his irresistible charm and infectious track “Luktelk”, captured the hearts of Eurovision fans across the continent last year, instantly becoming one of Lithuania’s brightest musical exports.

Meanwhile, Kasparas Jakučionis, just 19, is dribbling circles around his competition. After training with FC Barcelona’s elite academy, the Vilnius-born talent headed to the United States, where he impressed in the NCAA. Now, he’s among the top prospects in the 2024 NBA Draft, with analysts projecting him to go between picks 9 and 10. Not bad for someone who still needs ID to buy a pint in London.

While Silvester belts ballads and Kasparas shoots threes, both are representing Lithuania on the global stage with style. Whether you’re humming in the shower or yelling at the telly during overtime, these two are putting their homeland on the map—one basket and one high note at a time.

So, are they the same person? Probably not. But would we love a joint halftime show slash concert tour? Absolutely.
