Eurovision Icons Aiko and Kat Submit Entry for Benidorm Fest 2025 with ‘Mi Amor’

Eurovision fans were treated to a thrilling announcement last night, as two of the contest’s most charismatic figures—Aiko, the Czech Republic’s 2023 representative, and Kat, drummer of San Marino’s rock entry Megara—unveiled their candidacy for Benidorm Fest 2025. The duo made the exciting revelation during an intimate Eurovision-themed party at Pub Plaff in Vigo, sparking an immediate buzz among attendees.
Their song, Mi Amor, which remains unreleased on streaming platforms, will be the couple’s attempt to conquer Spain’s celebrated Benidorm Fest—a competition known for selecting Spain’s Eurovision representative. Aiko and Kat’s newfound collaboration stems not only from their shared passion for music, but also from their blossoming relationship, which began on the Eurovision stage earlier this year.
Aiko narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Eurovision final in 2023 with her song Pedestal, finishing in a heartbreaking 11th place during the second semi-final. Meanwhile, Kat and her band Megara, representing San Marino, placed 14th with their high-energy track 11:11. Despite falling short, both artists left indelible marks on the Eurovision scene, earning them loyal followings and significant industry attention.
For Kat, this venture marks a return to Spanish soil, as Megara originally gained notoriety through their impressive fourth-place finish in the second edition of Benidorm Fest with their breakout hit Arcadia. Now, both Aiko and Kat are back, poised to make waves once more with their unique brand of pop-rock fusion in Mi Amor.
Eurovision aficionados will have to wait eagerly to hear the track and see if the musical pair can turn their European dream into a reality at Benidorm Fest 2025.
