Azerbaijan’s History in Eurovision

Their breakthrough came in 2011 when Ell & Nikki won the contest with «Running Scared,» bringing Eurovision to Baku in 2012. Hosting the event highlighted Azerbaijan’s commitment to showcasing its rich cultural heritage. Over the years, Azerbaijan has been known for its strong performances and high placements, including Farid Mammadov’s 2nd place in 2013 with «Hold Me» and Chingiz’s 8th place in 2019 with «Truth.»

Despite a few setbacks, such as not qualifying in 2023 and 2024, Azerbaijan has maintained a reputation for dynamic and memorable entries. The nation’s participation is eagerly anticipated each year, and Eurovision 2025 in Switzerland promises to be another opportunity for Azerbaijan to shine on the international stage.
