Amir’s Concert in Casteljaloux Cancelled at the Last Minute Due to Fire Risk

Fans were ready for a summer night with French pop star Amir on 13 August, at a free open-air concert organised by the town’s Casino. Instead of a show under the stars, the only thing glowing was the municipal red tape: the gig was scrapped hours before it began.

From stage to safety briefing

The cancellation wasn’t Amir’s call. In a video posted on his socials the night before, the J’ai cherché singer delivered the bad news himself: “Even the tiniest spark could start a major fire. Obviously, no one wants to take that risk.”

Why the plug was pulled 🔥🎶

The local mayor, Julie Castillo, explained the decision on Facebook: Casteljaloux is surrounded by forest, evacuation would be “impossible” if flames spread, and even the car park was deemed a hazard. Throw in soaring summer temperatures and you’ve got a recipe for… well, not exactly a singalong.

Amir promises: “See you soon”

Though disappointed, Amir reassured his fans: “This is only postponed. Stay safe, enjoy your summer, and see you very soon.” For Casteljaloux, the wait for his return just got longer – but better safe than sorry when the countryside is tinder-dry.

This cancellation comes as several French regions face orange-level fire alerts this summer. The moral? Sometimes the show mustn’t go on.
