From Giorgia’s Brilliance to Topo Gigio’s Chaos: The Highs and Lows of Sanremo’s Fourth Night

The fourth night of the Sanremo Festival 2025 was, in short, a «festival within the festival.» With the duet night as the main attraction, the Ariston Theatre stage hosted performances ranging from the spectacular to the surreal – and at times, downright bizarre. While Giorgia and Annalisa set the bar high with a stunning rendition of SkyfallTopo Gigio stole hearts (and laughs) alongside Lucio Corsi. Yet, despite its dazzling moments, the night left an undeniable sense that something was missing.

The Duets That Shone (and Those That Didn’t)

Giorgia & Annalisa – Skyfall

Two of Italy’s most powerful voices joined forces to transform Adele’s Skyfall into an electrifying vocal masterpiece. Giorgia’s deep, soulful tones blended seamlessly with Annalisa’s soaring high notes, creating a spine-tingling performance“It felt like watching two titans share a microphone,” tweeted a fan. A well-deserved 1st place.

Lucio Corsi & Topo Gigio – Volare

An Italian Ziggy Stardust singing alongside a puppet mouse? Only in Sanremo. Lucio, dressed in full glam-rock attire, performed Modugno’s Nel blu dipinto di blu while Topo Gigio wiggled his ears to the beat. A critic described it as, “A fever dream straight out of a Fellini film.” 2nd place, purely for the WTF factor.

Fedez & Marco Masini – Bella Str0nza

Fedez modernised Masini’s 90s classic with fresh rap verses, throwing subtle jabs at his divorce from Chiara Ferragni“Yeah, I messed up, but at least the beat is fire,” he rapped, as the audience whispered among themselves. 3rd place, thanks to its boldness (and gossip value).

Olly & Goran Bregović – Il pescatore

Serbian folk legend Goran Bregović brought his Balkan magic to Sanremo, but Olly struggled to keep up amid a flurry of accordions and brass instruments.

Brunori Sas & Riccardo Senigallia – L’Anno che verrà

A tribute to Lucio Dalla that felt like a celebrationElegant.
