18 songs, two shows and one ticket to Vienna: Malta’s Eurovision race is on

With less than two weeks to go before Malta crowns its next Eurovision flag bearer for Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, the island has officially pressed play. All 18 competing songs are now available on streaming platforms, ready to be ranked, debated and emotionally discarded long before the live shows begin.

A neat appetiser ahead of the main course on 15 January, when the first semi-final of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026 takes place. Because nothing says “Eurovision season” quite like having strong opinions in advance.

Denise – “Trophy”

Franklin Calleja – “Guide You Home”

Chess Galea – “Shout It Out”

Kurt Anthony – “On the Borderline”

Stefan Gaela – “Pose”

Kelsey Attard – “Perfectly Broken”

Kelsie Borg – “Let a Girl Breathe”

Matthew Cilia – “Brutality Mentality”

Matt Blxck – “Ejja lejja ħdejja ‘l hawn (The Flute)”

Rhiannon Micallef – “Hold Myself Up”

Nathan Psaila – “Ganador”

Mark Anthony Bartolo – “Mumenti sbieħ”

Liston Bongailas – “Mela”

Ema – “Achikuku (Don’t Think About It)”

Janice Mangion – “Univers”

Adria Twins – “Nerġà nqum”

Mychael Bartolo Chircop – “My Sweet Angel”

Aidan – “Bella”

All artists will first compete in the semi-final on 15 January, with 12 entries advancing thanks to a combination of jury scores and public vote. The survivors will return for the grand final on Saturday 17 January, hosted by Keane Cutajar, alongside two trusted Eurovision favourites: Destiny Chukunyere and Gaia Cauchi.

As a final nudge to eurofans, Malta has also secured two guest acts designed to please the fandomTommy Cash in the semi-final, and Baby Lasagna in the grand final.

From now on, the ritual is familiar: listen, pick a favourite, abandon it, rediscover it, and complain anyway. Malta has delivered the songs. The rest, as always in Eurovision, will depend on live vocals, running order… and that magical moment when everyone suddenly agrees they were wrong all along.
