Slovenia’s EMA 2025 Gears Up! Here’s What to Expect from This Year’s Eurovision Selection

With Slovenia’s EMA 2025 in full swing, the country is setting the stage to discover its next Eurovision star. RTV Slovenija has officially opened applications for artists to submit their entries until November 25, and the excitement is palpable. With just a month to go, hopefuls across Slovenia are vying for the chance to compete on the big night, scheduled for February 1, 2025.

EMA 2025 is anything but an ordinary talent show. In a rigorous two-round selection process, only the top 12 submissions, chosen by a panel of experts, will make it to the stage. This carefully curated list of finalists will be announced by December 20, marking the countdown to one of the country’s most anticipated events.

The competition will feature a two-phase voting system. In the first round, five themed juries will award points Eurovision-style (1–8, 10, and 12), with panels including TV personalities, radio hosts, Eurovision experts, music professionals, and international influencers. This multifaceted approach promises a well-rounded judgment, ensuring only the highest calibre of musical talent rises to the top.

In the thrilling «super final,» the two highest-ranked entries will face off one last time. This time, however, the power shifts to the public, who will choose the winner through a nationwide phone vote. The victor will then wave Slovenia’s flag at Eurovision 2025, ready to make a mark on Europe’s grandest stage.

Will EMA 2025 uncover the next Eurovision anthem for Slovenia? With so much at stake, the journey to discover Slovenia’s best is already heating up.
