Marina Satti Halts Concert Amid Flying Eggs: A Night to Forget in Alexandria
In the ever-dramatic world of live music, it appears that even the most adored artists aren’t immune to the occasional rotten egg—literally. Marina Satti, fresh off her Eurovision success and riding a wave of sold-out shows across Greece, encountered a less-than-enthusiastic welcome in Alexandria, Imathia, during her Sunday night performance.
The concert, held at the packed Municipal Theatre, started off like any other on her tour, with fans of all ages cheering wildly as Satti took the stage. But what began as a typical evening of music quickly turned sour when a few unruly audience members decided to show their «appreciation» by hurling various objects onto the stage—eggs and lighters being the most notable.
Satti, known for her composure and professionalism, couldn’t let this slide. She abruptly stopped the music, addressing the crowd with a sharp «Stop,» and called out the behaviour in her typically direct manner. «Hello, may I ask for something? Because things are landing on stage—like eggs, for example, fresh ones… and some lighters. Could you kindly stop throwing these things? Especially the eggs, the raw ones? Shall we try this again?»
Despite her best efforts to keep the show on track, the atmosphere was clearly soured—no pun intended. Satti wrapped up the concert after just an hour and a half, cutting her usual performance time by nearly half. And who could blame her? Many in her position might have walked off the stage altogether.
While Satti’s tour has been a resounding success overall, this incident serves as a stark reminder that even the brightest stars can encounter a few bad eggs along the way.
