The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will take place in Madrid, Spain, on Saturday, November 16th. The Spanish capital will become the hub of European youth and children’s music, hosting this prestigious event at the impressive Caja Mágica. This versatile venue is equipped with top-notch technical features, ideal for delivering an unforgettable show.

RTVE Takes the Helm

For the first time in history, RTVE will organize the Junior Eurovision contest in Spain, marking the first Eurovision event in the country since the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest, also held in Madrid. This occasion is significant as the festival returns to its original broadcast day, Saturday, after several editions on Sunday.

Anticipation and Preparations

With the announcement of Madrid as the host city, six months before the event, anticipation is building about ticket sales for the 22nd edition of the festival. Although detailed information is currently scarce, interest remains high, and many are eager to learn how and when they can purchase tickets.

Ticket Sales: Dates and Platforms

Looking at previous editions, such as Nice 2023, where France Télévisions started ticket sales on October 26th, RTVE might follow a similar timeline. Therefore, it’s expected that tickets for Junior Eurovision 2024 will go on sale around October 16th. Stay tuned for official announcements in the first half of October.

Secure Ticket Acquisition

The official ticket sales platform has not yet been confirmed. Typically, a specialized ticketing platform is chosen. In Spain, portals like Ticketmaster, Taquilla.com, or even El Corte Inglés might handle ticket sales. It’s crucial to remember that tickets should be purchased through authorized platforms to avoid fraud.

Ticket Prices

Official ticket prices have not yet been announced. Previous editions, such as Nice 2023, featured prices ranging from 15 euros for standing tickets to 20 euros for seated tickets. In Yerevan 2022, prices varied between 8 and 50 euros for the jury show rehearsal and between 12 and 75 euros for the grand final.

Madrid as the Host City

Madrid, with its population of over 3.3 million and a vibrant cultural life, is an ideal destination for this event. The city is renowned for its world-class museums, impressive architecture, and lively nightlife. The Caja Mágica, located in the Usera district, is a modern and versatile sports complex designed by French architect Dominique Perrault.

Preparations and Official Statements

Ana María Bordas, Head of the Spanish Delegation for Junior Eurovision, expressed the great excitement with which RTVE accepts the EBU’s invitation to host the festival in Spain.
