Junior Eurovision 2024: A Glimpse into the Magic Unfolding at Madrid’s Caja Mágica

As the Caja Mágica opens its doors to the vibrant young talents of Europe, the Junior Eurovision 2024 rehearsals promise nothing short of enchantment. From pyrotechnics to perfectly synchronized choreography, Madrid has become the stage for a week of dazzling creativity and heartfelt stories.
Yesterday, Georgia kicked off rehearsals with a poignant scene featuring Andria and 10-year-old Gabriel Machabeli, presenting a set with screens, a table, and chairs—inviting viewers into an emotional narrative. Simone Grande of Italy followed with a cosy onstage «pyjama party,» complete with pillows, a bed, and a vibrant LED house. His performance feels like a playful invitation to everyone’s inner child, dancing along to bursts of colour and sparks.
Cyprus, making a comeback after a decade-long hiatus, presents a performance filled with elegance and precision. Maria Pissarides and her four dancers, dressed all in white, cast a mesmerizing glow under dramatic lighting. Next, Albania’s Nikol, dressed in a pink floral ensemble, captivated with a romantic solo performance, bringing floral hues to life onstage.
Ukraine followed with an innovative display featuring illuminated panels, elevating Artem’s “Hear Me Now” into a visual symphony. Estonia’s Annabelle opted for a cool urban backdrop, complementing her pink tracksuit with dancers in edgy black leather. The cityscape LED blends harmoniously with her modern choreography.
North Macedonia’s Ana and Aleksej brought “Marathon” to life with a blend of black and pink, designed by Elena Luka. With a starry sky and floating lyrics, their performance feels as if it’s pulling the audience straight into a pop fantasy.
To close the first day of rehearsals, Spain’s Chloe DelaRosa brought a burst of colour to the stage. Her performance for “Como la Lola” combines pink, blue, and orange hues, blending traditional Spanish influences with dynamic visuals and smoke pyros.
As the first rounds of rehearsals wrap up, it’s clear that Madrid is set for a Junior Eurovision like no other—each country putting forth a creative vision to captivate hearts across Europe.
