Joost Klein Hints at Eurovision 2025 Return During His Performance At PinkPop

Joost Klein kicked off the second day of Pinkpop at 12:00 PM on Saturday, donning his iconic blue shoulder suit and launching into his Eurovision hit «Europapa.» The Frisian artist captivated a packed field of festival-goers with his energetic performance.
Visibly emotional, Klein took a moment to thank the audience and his crew for their unwavering support. «Netherlands, I am speechless,» he said. «Without these people, the band, and everyone around me, there would have been no Eurovision. So many people have worked so hard for months, everyone!»
In a surprising twist, Klein performed a new song he claimed to have written for the Eurovision Song Contest titled «The Bird Song.» His set lasted nearly an hour and ended with an alternative remix of «Europapa.» As he concluded, he left fans buzzing with the cryptic remark: «Why the fuck not 2025?!»
The statement has sparked speculation about a potential return to Eurovision in 2025. However, AVROTROS, the Dutch broadcaster, declined to comment on Klein’s words. When asked for clarification, Klein’s management also stated they had «nothing to report.»
Joost Klein was a last-minute addition to the Pinkpop line-up. This isn’t his first performance at the festival; he also took the stage in Landgraaf in 2022.
Earlier this year, Klein was disqualified from the Eurovision Song Contest after allegedly making a threatening gesture towards a camerawoman backstage. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
