From «Starmania» to Eurovision: JJ’s Ready to Shine

Austria’s sending a real talent to Eurovision this year, and his story is anything but typical.  Forget your manufactured pop stars, Johannes Pietsch, just 23 years old, is about to light up the Eurovision stage.Think back to «Starmania» in 2021. Remember that electrifying performance of Sia’s «Chandelier»? Goosebumps, right? The crowd went wild, the judges were blown away, and JJ cruised into the semi-finals. It was clear then: this guy had something special.

But «Starmania» was just the beginning. JJ’s not just a TV sensation; he’s a serious artist. He’s been working hard, honing his voice at the Vienna State Opera. Seriously, think about that leap: from reality TV to performing in «The Magic Flute» at one of the world’s most prestigious opera houses. That’s dedication. That’s talent.

Now, the real challenge is here: Eurovision. Basel, May 15th. Mark your calendars. The second semi-final will be tough. JJ’s up against a brilliant bunch of artists from all over the world – Greece, Finland, Australia, Israel, you name it. It’s a pressure cooker, but JJ seems built for this kind of stage.

And the million-dollar question? What’s the song? What masterpiece is he going to unleash on Europe? Everyone’s dying to know. Austria‘s keeping it a secret, as always, so we’re all on the edge of our seats. The wait is killing us!

Can JJ capture that «Starmania» magic again, but on a massive, international scale? Can he follow in Kaleen’s footsteps and take Austria all the way to the grand final on May 17th? We’re biting our nails here. May 15th can’t get here fast enough!
