Andria Putkaradze has emerged victorious in Ranina 2024, Georgia’s renowned selection process for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. With this win, Andria will proudly represent the Caucasian nation at the Junior Eurovision in Madrid this November.
The Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) concluded the Ranina 2024 final on Sunday, May 26, with a spectacular show that began at 19:30 CEST (21:30 local time). The event, hosted by David Aladashvili and Vache Ghviniashvili, was a special highlight of the celebrations for Georgia’s Independence Day.
The Path to Victory
In the grand finale, Andria Putkaradze faced off against fellow finalists Sandro Gurgenadze and Barbare Morgoshia. Each performer delivered stunning renditions of patriotic Georgian songs originally composed by the famed singer Gogi Dolidze, in honor of the national holiday. Their performances were evaluated by a professional jury, who ultimately decided the winner.
A Prestigious Platform for Young Talent
The Ranina competition, now in its seventh edition, continues to be a vital platform for showcasing Georgia’s young musical talents. It serves as the primary method for selecting the country’s representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will celebrate its 22nd edition this year.
Looking Ahead to Madrid
The song that Andria Putkaradze will perform at Junior Eurovision will be selected internally by GPB in the coming months. With Andria’s selection, Georgia joins Estonia as one of the first countries to announce their representative for the event, set to take place at Madrid’s Caja Mágica on Saturday, November 16.
Celebrating a National Milestone
This year, GPB strategically scheduled the Ranina final to coincide with Georgia’s Independence Day celebrations, adding to the national significance of the event. The patriotic atmosphere and the impressive display of young talent made for a memorable conclusion to Ranina 2024.
As preparations for Junior Eurovision continue, the excitement builds around Andria Putkaradze’s upcoming performance. With his talent and dedication, he aims to bring the coveted crystal microphone home to Georgia.
